End-of-Semester Reflection Packet for Middle School

It is the last two days before winter break, the final is graded, and your eighth graders have already checked out. You still have two class periods with them, and you want those periods spent looking back at the semester, not just waiting for the bell.

Sixteen printable pages for the last two class periods of a semester or a school year, when the final is behind you and the students are done. Students look back with questions that ask for specifics (names, places, what was actually said), choose one goal a camera could see, write a letter to themselves that gets sealed, and add a card to a class wall of what everyone learned.

Inside: a teacher page on who reads what; a minute-by-minute plan for each of two 50-minute periods, with the words to say and what to have ready, plus the changes for 45-minute periods and one long period; a three-page look-back (grades and effort, three moments, a twelve-line honest check); a one-goal page; a six-week tracker; a check-in page for later; a letter page; seal labels; six wall cards and three wall headers; and a class record sheet.

Nothing is dated, so the same pages work in December and in June. Print on US Letter or A4. Students keep their look-back pages and their tracker; you collect only the goal sheet and the sealed letters.
